This is one of our favorite breakfasts!
Mix well:
8 C oats
1/2 tsp salt
1-2 C nuts (we like slivered almonds, and our most recent favorite is whole almonds blended up)
1 C coconut
whatever else sounds good to you (craisins, raisins, wheat germ, etc.)
Then add:
1/2 C oil
1/2 C water
1 1/2 C honey
Mix all the wet stuff in real good. Then divide between two cookie sheets and spread it out pretty evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 300 degrees, shorter if you like it softer, and longer if you like it crunchier.
I usually bake for about 17 minutes, then pull the trays out and flip the granola over. Then I put the tray that was on the bottom on the top, and the one on the top on the bottom. That way it all cooks evenly. We store it in a Pyrex bowl that has a lid on it.
Are your comments on here working now? I'm making this for the third time, by the way. I love this granola. And every time it is fun to add something different.
ReplyDeleteYep, finally working! This really is the best recipe ever, we make it all the time!
ReplyDeleteCaleb & I are making this tonight! He loves "Gornilla" as he calls it!
