Strawberry Cake

This recipe is from my Mom. Very rarely do I make this without someone asking me for the recipe. I buy a 16 oz container of frozen strawberries (pictured below) and use the same container for the cake and frosting.

Cake
1 (box) white cake mix
1 3 oz pkg strawberry jello
2 TB flour
1/2 C water
1/2 C oil
4 eggs
3/4 C frozen strawberries, thawed
(you can also use sweetened fresh berries)

Frosting
4 C powdered sugar (1 lb)
1/2 C (1 stick) butter
1/2 C frozen strawberries, thawed

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put cake mix, jello, and flour into a bowl. Add 1/2 C water and beat for two minutes. Add oil and eggs one at a time and beat thoroughly. Last mix in the 3/4 C strawberries.

Pour into a greased cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until done. This also makes 3 9-inch layers or 1 oblong 9X13 pan or one cookie sheet size (cook for 30 minutes for these). My favorite to make is the sheet cake version because I feel like it's the perfect ratio of cake to frosting per bite. :) Mix the frosting ingredients together while the cake is baking and spread on the cake while it's still warm, but not hot.
